How is that new lift and terrain they put in last season?

Coverage is still good, but conditions are soft & slushy top to bottom. Limited operations with many lifts closed. Reduced lift prices, too. Monday report.

Great day! Firm until sun hit the snow around 1030. No bare trails or obstacles. Just great spring snow.

Anywhere that people have been in the last few days is now dust on crust, with the exception of the groomed runs and the Palisades Bowl, both of which are heavenly. Worth the trip - we had the whole mountain to ourselves.

If you were the one of 50 people on the hill today, you had a great time. Nice dust on crust. Fresh lines all day... Last cold system for season most likely.

4/12: snow great in the afternoon, no crowds at all. Ridge run in CA was best, rode like buttercream frosting. Many chairs not running due to tapering operations for spring. Snow was very soft and not sticky on runs, firmer in trees but not really icy. Lots of fun.

Alpine meadows might be better for spring skiing than squaw...with zero crowds and plentiful grooming, you are basically skiing soft corduroy all day. Yesterday I was still skiing untracked cord at closing time, despite the very warm temps.
