Patrick: I'd say your best bet is mammoth they have the longest season in CA Lasting through May or June so u should still find plenty open runs their plus they are higher in elevation then Tahoe resorts base is 9,000 top is 11,000

Considering the lack of snow it was fun yesterday. Burnout was fast but not dangerous(icy). Kudos to Northstar. I got 16 runs.....25K feet.

Runs yesterday were great in the morning but slushy half way down by lunch so we gonna ski 9 til 2 each day. Kirkwood was great, mostly unpisted but plenty of snow considering, just very heavy under foot. Where they have pisted, it's smooth as a pool table & fast. Sentinel bowl was nice

Park is amazing even though the snow is going fast. Best park I've seen in a while, even considering the deeper snowpack on other states.

3.25.15: Had a Fab Spring day of ski/board Fun! Best to get there before 9 and jump on the lift as soon as they start running, temp heat up quick! I got 8 runs in 94 mins on skis, starting at 9am. One of 1st bunch up the lifts. I'm in transition- so, then 8 runs on SB, got too slushy and I converted back and got 1 more run in on skis. Then decided to call it a day just before 3p- too slushy, grass areas popping thru, and rock obstacles.. thrugh

That's it for the season. Decent, immediately following the 5", but bad the following day. I don't recommend coming to Northstar again this year.

Runs are perfectly groomed, the dusting was an added bonus . Conditions are perfect on the runs that are open , couldn't ask for better skiing in March . Yes a tiny tiny bit slushy at the bottom , but that can happen on a warm day in February. Shocked at how good it was !!

Awesome day. Snowing on and off all day on the upper mountain. Fresh powder in the morning turning into packed powder in the afternoon.

@patrick sorry but if we don't get a storm early April then No, in fact I would be surprised if resorts are still open at all. If you haven't bought your pass yet then keep an eye on Mt Rose as that is the highest resort around here. Head to Colorado maybe instead or bring your hiking gear here.

What's open is fine. Nice groomers. Just do your skiing early and have a late lunch. Got mushy in the afternoon. Had a great time. Zephyr Lodge is great.
