2/7 Skied a half day before the Super Bowl. Blue skies and the place was empty! Loose corn snow over hardback and some ice, but very skiable. Double Diamond bumps were large with deep troughs -- time to mow them down and start over. Nutcracker not open for some reason.
Skyward at 9:10 am. Groomed and flawless. What a run. Rest of the mountain wasn't too bad either. Victoria was polar opposite from yesterday. Great soft moguls and tons of man made pow on the south side of the trail. Pushing 60 trails.
Went up 2/8/16. Not too bad. Still have a good amount of terrain. Conditions were hard packed and groomed, like skiing the Poconos of Pennsylvania. By the afternoon, most trails were ice. Guns are out though making snow!!
Today was a enjoyable day weather-wise, as snow conditions go, they could of been better in some places. Snow formed into pebbles and some were as large as a potato. The rise and fall in above and below freezing temps (causing the "clumping") are probably to blame.
Went Sunday for first time skiing this season. I was hopeful for decent conditions after the recent snowfall on Friday. However aside from green trails, very few others are open due to a lack of coverage. The ones that were open seemed to be largely hard packed. Lines were short though.
Got to ski sat morning when lifts opened, everything was nicely groomed n when ur the 1st one down untouched trails it's awesome! Really enjoyed the day! Special shout out to Brian Petty for finding my phone-THANKS!
