    Gearing up for their WinterBlast Weekend Jan. 13 through 15, Wisp has been blasting their snow guns, making 13 inches of snow over the past 48 hours. Coupled with 16 inches of natural snow this season, the event looks to move ahead despite cancellations at other resorts. Full Article

  • Substantial Snowfall Hits Canaan Valley

    Northwestern West Virginia saw its first significant snowfall of the year earlier this week leaving Canaan Valley covered in an 8 inch thick white blanket. While crews off-mountain worked to clear roads, the Tucker County resort saw its largest crowds of the season. Full Article

  • Bear Creek Re-opens for Holiday Weekend

    After opening for four days in mid-December, Macungie's Bear Creek reopens today at 4 p.m. with five trails of beginner and intermediate terrain. In the past, the MLK holiday has proved a popular time for the resort and Bear Creek hopes to keep the snow through the weekend. Full Article

    Diehard riders couldn't ask for more from Steven's Pass this season. The popular Mill Valley area of the resort has been open almost the entire season because of huge snowfalls that continue to pound the region. In the last week alone the area has recieved more than 170cm of snow. Full Article

The area has been struggling to keep an early cover in the face of rising temperatures, but reports favorable weather into the weekend will make it possible for them to resume operatiors.
