This is the best place I've been to... All the 3 valleys (Trees Vallees) are interconnected in an efficient way.... You can ski endlessly on new routes and mountains all week.... No cars in town, great beginners area, good nightlife... Fantastic, with endless opportunities for skiing this extensive network.. Compared to Chamonix, Zermatt and Saalbach this wins hands down... Val Thorens is not so expensive as Meribel and Courchevel and its pretty cozy even though the building look a bit like a suburbean area.. No old lifts, no lines, very long, wide slopes with 1000+ meters fall..... Amazing.... Mt. Masse, Mt. Vallon, Cime de Carron, Mauduit from Saulire, Mt. Thorens in the fourth valley, Mt. Chambre etc all with 1000m pluss height difference on the slopes.
