Have been in and around Morzine for the last 10 years and I still come back and find new experiences. The area is huge and you can ski everywhere on the Portes du soleil (650kms of slopes) and some great offpiste. The restaurants on the piste are good and varied to cater for all tastes and pockets.
In the resort you will find an old spa town with lots of classic chalets to rent. Lots of bars and 2 night clubs. Paradis is a must with kitch lepoard skin seats, mirrored walls and uplight dance floor!
The spirit of Morzine is held up by the Morzinois, the locals who are very protective of the village and do not like it being abused or changed. This is great for the visitors as we get to see a traditional French town as it should be not as it is arranged for us to see. They are very proud of their village and love to inform everyone of its history and the little nuances it has like the portable distillary, that is the last in France, where all the locals can come with their fruits and make Poir (the local spirit). I could go on for ages but its better if you go yourself.
