Useful information for travelling from Bourg St Maurice to various local places. On my visit there was no snow on the roads travelled. I cannot stress: buy the IGN contour map 3532 ET it shows all the lifts, except Val d'Isere and Tignes. By train Bourg St Maurice to Moutiers:- Buy tickets but check monitors...You could be travelling by bus and not the train! Bourg St Maurice to St Foy Tarenteise by bus:- I waited for the 8-10am bus, nothing at 8-05, so confirmed with the Val d'Isere bus driver that he is to stop at St Foy 'village', this bus also leaves at 8-10am. and goes via St Foy 'village', (obviously best your skis are easy to get to when getting off the bus!) When you are dropped off, their should be a free bus waiting for you, this takes approx. 15 minutes to get you to the St Foy skiing area (Bon Conseil). Now I wanted to get the 2-00pm Belle Savoie bus back to B St M. The free bus leaves the ski area at 1-35pm. tell the driver to stop at St Foy 'village' before he deviates up to La Masure (this detour he does only on the return), otherwise you will miss the 2-00pm bus. You will have to walk 200 or so metres to where you got off the B St M bus, so make a note of the hotel/restaurant area where you were dropped off.Useful information for travelling from Bourg St Maurice to various local places.
