This year it is not so food with the lack of snow. At the top of the mountain is where there is the good snow. Lower than 2000m high, you start seeing stones everywhere, which it is nit very nice. In some parts, there are patches with no snow!
At the top, good snow
Lots of stones on the slopes

We went early in the season and experienced all types of snow, glorious sunny days, light snow, heavy snow, powder… it was amazing. Skiing across all valleys is incredible as they are all unique in their own way.
Spoilt for choice, you can ski for a week and never do the same run again with a three valleys pass
None, stayed in Bozel Which was a 10 minute drive to covered parking and gondola

Very well run resort. The pistes are well cared for and the lifts run smoothly. It is easy to get up to the top first thing in the morning. And you can get over to the top of courchevel 1850 before the rush. Many lovely long reds to cruise down. Nothing too scary. The wonderful restaurant Bel Air above 1650 (Moriand) is the best place to take a break.
Beautiful scenery. Very well rub resort. Pistes well tended, lifts work well. Queues more fast.
Expensive!

great resort
there are unlimited places to ski
you are stuck if there is no snow
Visited each year for past twenty or so, but no more : Up the mountain a bottle of mineral water was £ 13.00 Large beer £ 11.00 Food, light lunch, for two, with a bottle of wine £ 80.00 to £120.00 nothing special. Night life nill. ( appart from one night club which cost £ 400.00 each to enter, mind you you did get a free drink ) Some restaurents has such bad service, most unpleasant staff. This all sounds very negative, however, the skiing and boarding was good, nice snow and the runs were looked after. But the prices ....................
mountains
Expensive
It seemed they cut down all the trees to make the pistes, and in the majority of cases it is up the lift and down the piste alongside. No long rambling pistes. The jewellry shops were many, but the quality was poor - lots of zirconium oxide and green glass. The slope cafes are expensive - 4.60 for a hot chocolate.
great chalet
costly
Courchevel is divided into 3 areas, at the top 1850, middle 1650 and bottom 1550. Things are more expensive at the top and cheaper at the bottom so take your pick! We stayed in 1650 in a catered chalet with Crystal Holidays and although the food wasn't gourmet, the staff were really friendly. 1850 has a fantastic ski range and even its own landing strip! Apparently Richard Branson flies in on a regular basis. Pistes are all extremely well groomed and signposted. If you are a beginner, you'll have no problems as they are nice and wide too. If you are going on an exploration day of the 3 valleys, head to Val Thorens, the runs there are fabulous and once there they get even better. Night life in Courchevel is pricey but if you want to hang out with the people who work there, head to Gringos Pub in 1850 or the Bubble Bar in 1650. Beer is a little more reasonable in these places and both offer a good happy hour for apres skiers.
massive ski range
expensive beyond belief

Arrived in Courchevel via the Saulire lift station from Meribel. Started on a nice steep, wide piste with good snow. Lots of opportunities to detour into a few inches of fresh powder, but the options would have increased ten-fold with another couple feet of snow. There is an off-piste area just north of the Saulire station called the Grand Coulier that looked pretty awesome, but with the limited snow cover I didn’t venture out to try ithat. Wish I’d been with someone familiar with the area. The setting was just beautiful...reminded me a bit of Telluride. Enjoyed the full spectrum of runs....above and below tree line, blue cruisers, steep reds, and ventured off piste near the Chanrossa Chair to sample some steep stuff. It was interesting to note that the snow was much better than that on the other side of the ridge, in Meribel. Not sure if that was due to the orientation of the valley or perhaps due to fewer skiers, but it was certainly much better. Superb food on the slopes (I opted for the roasted 1/4 chicken in a tarragon sauce...very tasty, and worth the 18.50 euro) Lift lines were not bad at all (this was on New Years Day.). Rarely waited more than a minute or two...but I never ventured down into the villages, where the crowds were probably heavier. I enjoyed Courchevel the most of the 3 Valleys resorts.
Great snow, fantastic setting, lots of terrain
Expensive (but not bad for lunch)
fantastic skiing, lots of different terrain and views to die for! Very expensive in cafe's and bars, would want to return to get to know the slopes better, the ease at getting from one place to another is brilliant and lots of lifts get you exactly where you want to be! Kids loved it, easy to find places and meet if we went our separate ways.

One of the most expansive set of mountains it has been my good luck to ski. Val Thorens is the top of world and so sweet. I do caution folks who haven't skied Europe, "it it is a black diamond, they really mean it." Only drawback to Les Trois Vallee is getting caught on wrong mountain after lifts start closing. Requires long ride to Moutier and back. Loved the place.
