Minnesota's Lutsen Mountains, located on the North Shore of Lake Superior, won the 2012 OnTheSnow Visitors' Choice Award for Best Family Resort in the Midwest. Lutsen's four peaks, awesome views of Lake Superior, lodging options both on the mountain and nearby, affordable ski and snowboard school, day care and accessibility from Duluth airport make it the Midwest's Best Family Resort.
SKIING FOR THE KIDS: New for 2012/2013 are snowboarding classes for kids. Parents can register their children for Lutsen’s Snow Riders lessons, and the kids can have learning how to snowboard with other kids their age. Lutsen’s Mystery Mountain provides a wide variety of beginner and intermediate terrain that kids can explore as well.
OFF-HILL ACTIVITIES FOR MOM & DAD: In January of 2013, Mom & Dad can head to the Snowball Festival, Lutsen Mountains biggest and most anticipated music event of the year. The even takes place from Jan. 9 – Jan. 12, 2013.
FAMILY FUN OFF THE SLOPES: There’s something for the whole family to enjoy at Lutsen Mountains. Families can head out for a horse-drawn sleigh ride, or head out for a “true north woods adventure” and go dogsledding with local mushers.
