With Red River Ski Area and Taos Ski Valley opening in New Mexico this week, you might be inclined to feast on the first turns of the season. The Southern Rocky Mountain ski hills have a few ways to save bucks at the ticket window when you come to visit the Taos area, starting Thanksgiving Day.
Red River, opening Wednesday, Nov. 27, will help you get reacquainted with affordable lift tickets. Buy tickets online and save up to $16 per person. Use them at Red River between Nov. 27 – Dec. 1 and pay $50 for adults, $46 for teens and $40 for juniors and seniors. Purchase Red River lift tickets online.
On Thursday, Nov. 28, Taos Ski Valley will get their season underway with reduced price lift tickets for $55. Lifts will run Thursdays – Sundays until daily operations begin on Dec. 19. Chairs 1, 2, 3 and the Rueggli will be running starting on opening day, with additional terrain open on the backside (no lift service).
If you plan on making Taos a multi-day affair, check out the resort’s Get Up and Go package, which includes discounted lodging, lift tickets and rental equipment for the duration of your stay. Book two nights or more between Nov. 26 and Apr. 6, 2014, and you’ll ski, snowboard and stay at Taos starting at $135 per person, per night.
