Start waxing your skis and boards, fans of Ohio’s Alpine Valley. Located just east of Cleveland, boarders and skiers will be riding two new chair lifts, part of $2.5 million in improvements. The first increases uphill capacity at the base of the lodge. The second accompanies a new surface lift for the totally re-contoured beginner area, replacing two rope tows to make learning to ski or board easier.

New snow guns will dramatically increase snowmaking, allowing Alpine to open faster while reducing energy consumption. On top of that, the ski resort's tubing area has been totally redone with two new handle tows and more lanes.
