Mad River Mountain, Ohio's largest ski and snowboard resort, is the winner of the 2013 OnTheSnow Visitors' Choice Award for Best Park & Pipe in the Midwest for the foutrh year in a row. Thanks to the Momentum Park, Jumpline Park, Capital Park and the new Louie Vito Learning Park, named after Pro Snowboarder Louie Vito who grew up skiing there, Mad River Mountain is the best bet for great terrain parks in the Midwest region.
PARK & PIPE EVENTS FOR 2013/2014: Mad River Mountain has several annual park and pipe events. The Louie Vito Rail Jam Event brings Vito back to Mad River each season the last weekend in December. Mad River also will hold a three week Big Air Series in January and The Jumpline Park will also hold the annual Super Slopestyle March 1.
LEARNING/PROGRESSION PARKS: The Momentum park gets skiers and riders who are new to freestyle terrain used to what it’s like to be off the ground. The Louie Vito Learning Park is a great place for skiers and riders looking to learn or perfect terrain park skills. The features are small, ranging from 6 to 12 feet.
ADVANCED TO EXPERT PARKS & PIPES: The Capital Park is Mad River’s longest park and is equipped with medium-sized features and jumps ranging from 15 to 30 feet, with rails 10 feet or longer. The park is groomed by 12 park rangers throughout each day. The Jumpline Park, usually reserved for huge jumps, will actually have some large rails this coming season.
Mad River Mountain also launched a whole new portion of their website dedicated to their parks where you can find park updates, photos, edits and information.
