Mont Tremblant, Quebec has been voted the 2013 OnTheSnow Visitors' Choice Award winner for Best Overall Resort in the Northeast. Tremblant sits at 2,871 feet in the Laurentians of Quebec with 654 acres of skiable terrain, 14 lifts and 95 runs. With more than 1,000 snow guns, it has one of the most sophisticated and powerful snowmaking systems in North America. The resort is known for its wide variety of impressive ski-in, ski-out accommodations as well as tons of world-class dining in the village. The mountain village also features 45 shops, a children's ski school, ski/snowboard rentals and other services.
APRÉS SPOTS: There's always something going on at Tremblant, with a good choice of bars and restaurants. A long-time favorite in Tremblant, located right at the base of the mountain, is Resto-Bar Le Shack with its sunny terrace. The microbrewery and Irish pub are also popular. For great food, head to the Louisiana-inspired Fat Mardi's.
WHERE TO SKI: The Duncan Express will take you to the top of the North Side in nine minutes; the eight-passenger gondola operates on the South Side. Half of the runs in Tremblant are expert level and the rest are split between beginner and intermediate. There are steep, top-to-bottom bump runs and gladed tree runs for experts; plenty of cruising terrain in the trees and on-groomed trails for intermediates; and a two-acre beginner area with long, gentle greens. Freestyle enthusiasts have access to 30 acres of landscaped terrain in three different snowparks. The Adrenaline Park also offers one of the top terrain parks in the east.
