Spring Back to Vail, April 8 through 14, is a celebratory end-of-season bash on the mountain. The Colorado resort, who turned 50 years old this season, is counting down the days of winter with a week of free concerts, pond skimming, gear giveaways and after-dark parties for the late-night crowd. Sunny skies and soft snow are typically on the agenda at Vail in April, letting skiers and snowboarders carve some corn turns in the morning or slushy stashes in the afternoon before unwinding with free concerts from O.A.R. (April 12) and Sublime with Rome (April 13) in the base village.

The spring festivities conclude on Vail’s closing day, April 14, with the World Pond Skimming Championships, where competitors will vie for high marks in distance, style and creativity at water solubility, followed by a free performance from Jamaican reggae legend Jimmy Cliff.
