Blue Sky Basin is phenomenal, no doubt. However on a busy day, or a big powder day, everyone makes a beeline to BSB, and if you're behind the first wave you'll probably be stuck in lift lines salivating while those who waited for first chair are ripping fresh in the bowls, hootin' and hollerin'

Vail is indeed vast. When everyone does head to BSB plenty of terrain remains empty. For example, one day I was literally alone in Outer Mongolia while the lift lines were long in BSB. Then by doing a little exploring I found untouched powder glades in areas where again I was alone while everyone else fought for scraps in BSB. If you can get the fresh goods in BSB, though, you are truly blessed.
