My pleasure. Just look for me dropping knee in the upper bowls.

Ullrski, you are obviously an insider with a wealth of information. Thanks for adding a fun flair to the story. I hope to see you in Breckenridge sometime this winter. It's going to be a great season.

FYI: No parking at Peak7 or 8 base areas. Take the bus or gondola from town after a breakfast burrito at Daylight Donuts, and get to the lifts early, especially on weekends. The cruisers and glades (far skiers' left/fenceline) are a nice place to start on a powder day while waiting for patrol to sweep Horseshoe/Contest bowl. Imperial Express takes you to 12,840' but one must hike to the 12,998' summit of Peak 8 to access Lake Chutes. On Peak 9 hit Peerless Trees early on a powder day, and on Peak 10 drop down the north-facing glades called The Burn.

The "century-old authentic gold mine" referred to in the article is the Country Boy Mine up French Gulch, and the Breckenridge area has many dozens of mine remains almost everywhere you explore, however most are buried by meters of snow in the winter.

For good apres ski cuisine try Modis, Relish or the Swiss Haven; for cool bars check out The Goldpan, Motherloaded Tavern or Ullr's. For a fun sidetrip drive over Hoosier Pass/the Continental Divide to the funky town of Alma, CO and have a beer at The Southpark Saloon.
