Save On October Snow In Engelberg

Engelberg's Titlis glacier ski area, complete with the resort's high-speed six-seater chairlift - the ice flyer, will open for the 2009-10 season in October, and the famous Swiss resort has an Autumn Early Skier for those who can't wait to get started on the snow for winter 2009-10.

The packages are available from Oct. 24 to Nov. 8 and again from Nov. 20 to Dec. 18 and include a two-night stay in a bed and breakfast plus a two-day ski pass and cost from CHF199 (€133).

Anyone taking advantage of this offer will also receive the resort's guest card which provides a range of reductions at shops, restaurants and other businesses in the village.

Around 20 hotels in four categories are offering the package, with Category D (Bellevue and Engelberg) being the cheapest at CHF199/€133 and Category A (the Eienwäldli, Ramada and Waldegg) at the top of the pile costing CHF329 (€219).

Half-board and single rooms are available at all hotels for a supplement, depending on the hotel. There are reductions on the full price for children staying in their parents room and accompanying a minimum of two paying adults. Children aged up to five are free of charge, children aged 6-12 years are half-price, and children aged 13-16 years are discounted 30 percent of the full rate.
