What happens to Steamboat's renowned champagne powder once the spring sun has been on it for some time?
Why, it becomes "springalicious," don't you know?
That's what Steamboat is offering its late-season visitors when they purchase the resort's spring pass options, which can lower per-day skiing and snowboarding costs to as little as $12.50.
First, there's the Springalicious 3-Day Pass, which goes for $99 and provides riders lift access for any three days in April. The $33-per-day rate saves skiers and snowboarders between the ages of 18-64 about $40 a day off the regular spring rate.
Then, there's the Springalicious 12-Day Pass, which goes for $149 and lets holders ride the lifts every day in April until Steamboat closes its doors on the 2008-09 season April 12. This pass works out to a savings of a little more than $60 per day for adult skiers and snowboarders.
While you're saving money while reaping the Boat's spring corn, you can also take in a couple of the resort's rites of spring: The Cardboard Classic, a cardboard-craft race celebrating its 29th go-round April 11, and the second Splashdown Pond Skimming Competition April 12.
