OnTheSnow with you on the go.
English (US) (Change)Wolf Creek Ski Area, located high up in the San Juan range of southern Colorado, midway between Pagosa Springs and South Fork, is famous for its deep and bountiful snowfall - an average of 465 inches per year -- and relatively uncluttered - by other humans, that is - slopes.
Set at an altitude between 10,300 and 11,904 feet, Wolf Creek buts up against the Continental Divide, offering 1,600 acres of rideable terrain, with the 1,000-acre Water Fall area a playground of glades, tree skiing/snowboarding and changing terrain for the advanced and expert rider (45 percent of Wolf Creek's terrain is designated for the hot shots).
You can have all this at a pretty reasonable rate: If you are older than 12 but younger than 65 you can ride Wolf Creek six lifts for $52 ($28 for the younger and older sets).
The price will be lower March 29 and April 4 if you happen to be going to school: On those days, Wolf Creek will be hosting the last of its College Days promotions, wherein skiers and snowboarders with a valid college photo ID can ride the lifts for $31.
it gets even better April 1, 5, 11 and 12 because those are the days Wolf Creek will hold its Locals Appreciation Days. It's $31 for anyone to come out and ride the lifts - there is no local ID required.
