While today, March 20, 2013, may be the first day of spring, someone forgot to inform the Northeast. Winter Storm Ukko hammered the East Coast with snow, with ski areas like Jay Peak, Mad River Glen, Saddleback, Sugarloaf and Sunday River receiving anywhere from 15 to 20 inches of new snow. The white stuff is a welcome sign to skiers and snowboarders looking to hold on to the last turns of the winter, especially since these turns will be of the powder variety.
