A skier blasting through powder at Mt. Bohemia, MI.
How does three meals, plus a lift pass and lodging for at little as $75 a day at the Midwest’s most challenging ski area sound?
If you’re up to its 85, mostly black or double-black diamond, runs spread over a reported 900-foot drop, then Mount Bohemia, in Michigan’s extreme Upper Peninsula, is waiting for you to call. So far this season, it's received 236 inches of snow, with 26 in the last week.
Bohemia bills itself as not for the feint-hearted. Only two of its runs are rated intermediate. A sign at the base warns beginners to stay off.
With a season that will extend into April, Bohemia is extending its spring break special deal to closing. That $75 per person, quad occupancy, will get you lodging that normally runs $156 nightly, plus three meals at its North Pole restaurant, featuring local Keweenaw Brewing beers, plus a lift ticket normally running $54 daily. That's $135 off Having trouble lining up four people? No problem. The same deal will cost you just $95 a day, double, still $115 off.
Or, come up and stay either in its trailside lodging or yurt, either Tuesday night or Thursday night, and your Wednesday stay is free. Of, if coming up this Saturday (March 23), have fun in the snowshoe 5K fun run on its ski trails starting at 5:15 p.m. The $20 registration also buys you a post-event pasta dinner with salad.
