Thunder Ridge Ski Area in Patterson, N.Y., is working with the Best Day Foundation to help kids with special needs to experience the thrill of adventure activities regardless of their challenges Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 28 and March 1.
Best Day involves safe fun with activities including a snow obstacle course, snowman building, stretching, snow tubing, sledding, and an awards ceremony where every child participant gets a medal and a goodie bag. It's free, besides.
Max Montgomery of Best Day said the foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit helping kids with special needs build confidence and self-esteem through adventure activities. They receive no public funding and are dependent on sponsors and individuals to help make these outings possible.
"We're looking for volunteers and participants for the fun-filled free day," Montgomery said.
Go to Best Day Foundation for more information.
The event runs 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day.
Volunteers show up at 8:30 a.m. to get things organized.
The event is sponsored by the Best Day Foundation, and those good folks would like your help.
Participate or volunteer by signing up online to help kids with special needs have fun on the snow. You'll have a lot of fun.
