Squaw Valley hosts a variety of on and off snow fun and adventures for kids and teens at the week-long festival called “Kid-O-Rama” running from Feb. 18 to 26, 2013. The kid-oriented extravaganza will include a host of fun activities including big trucks, street parties, balloon animals, skating parties, kids’ concerts and more.
All new this year is Squaw Valley’s Kid-O-Rama Kastle located at SnoVentures Activity Zone at the base of Squaw Valley. The castle is 5,000 square feet built using 30,000 cubic feet of snow. It features four towers, three slides and four staircases. It is free to enter and open daily from 9 am to 4 pm from now until the end of Kid-O-Rama week, weather and conditions permitting.
Big Truck Night in the Tram Promenade (next to the Funitel) in The Village on Thursday, Feb. 21 is an event not to be missed, which will feature fire trucks, snowplows and grooming machines family to check out. Check out the incredible machinery and meet the drivers behind the wheel.
Teens can ski and snowboard with others with similar ages and ability levels every morning of Kid-O-Rama. The teen group lessons are for advanced and experts only and cost $89 without a ticket or $150 including a ticket. Save $20 by booking three days in advance.
The Kids Crafts and Game Room in the Palisades Room in The Village will be open all week offering ping-pong, air hockey, foosball and cornhole, along with a variety of different arts and crafts. The game room is $10 per child, complimentary to Village guests.
Squaw Valley offers several other fun activities for the kids to enjoy including snow tubing, mini-snowmobiles and ice-skating.
