Like wine and cheese, skiing and soaking go together. But that pairing demands a lodge that provides more than a token hot tub where skiers cram shoulder to shoulder. In British Columbia, Panorama Mountain Village serves up skiing and soaking in big proportions.
Located in the Purcell Mountains, Panorama Mountain Village yields big views of the Canadian Rockies from its summit. One run – View of 1,000 Peaks — gets its name from that. Intermediates can find a fun playland in the Founders Ridge and Sun Bowl glades while experts can challenge themselves in the Extreme Dream Zone and Taynton Bowl.
In the Upper Village, Panorama Springs Lodge overlooks the tubing hill, beginner area, Mile One Quad, and large hot pools. While the hot pools are accessible by visitors staying in other lodging on the mountain, those staying in the Panorama Springs Lodge have the advantage of hopping to the pools in a suit and towel rather than bundling up for a long walk outside.
The lodge features studios and one- or two-bedroom condos. Built with skiers in mind, it also includes ski storage, underground parking, and quick access to and from the slopes via the Red Carpet and Mile One Quad.
Huge hot pools serve to soothe sore muscles after skiing. The two large pools have more than 300 square feet of soaker space with plenty of room to sprawl out with views of the rugged Purcells.
Skiers and snowboarders can get deals to stay at the Panorama Springs Lodge. One family ski package that starts at $299 per night bundles up a five-night stay with lift tickets, lodging, hot pooling, tubing, tobogganing, and a $200 gift card. For Family Day weekend, a package includes four nights of lodging, lift tickets, hot pool access, and a pizza party starting at $333 per night.
Other ski and stay packages add on heli-skiing: A one-day heli package starts at $400 per person per night while a three-day heli package begins at $810 per person.
