Montana’s Lone Mountain Ranch provides a getaway of a different style. A historic guest ranch by summer, Lone Mountain Ranch runs winter programs that cater to Nordic skiers as well as alpine skiers and snowboarders at neighboring Moonlight Basin and Big Sky Resort.

This winter, the ranch has added two Girlfriend Getaway packages to its lineup. The programs, which take place Jan. 19-24, 2013 or March 9-14, fill four days with a combination of skiing and relaxing. They are perfect for women who enjoy all types of skiing—alpine, cross-country, skate, classic, and touring.

The program is designed for beginner to advanced Nordic skiers to explore the 90 kilometers of groomed trails at Lone Mountain Ranch. Nordic lessons from PSIA-certified instructors are included in the package. Alpine skiers can also participate or add on days before or after at Moonlight Basin or Big Sky. Naturalists will also guide the women on a ski tour into Yellowstone National Park.

For relaxation, the trip adds in an evening sleigh ride dinner, wine tasting, yoga, and an afternoon at the Moonlight Basin Spa. The spa is known for its waterfall indoor-outdoor hot pool.

Lone Mountain Ranch has designed the Girlfriend Getaway for independent female skiers, pairs of girlfriends, or mothers and daughters. Pricing is all-inclusive for the four full days and five nights, except that lift tickets need to be added on. The rate also varies from $1,749-2,199, depending on the type of accommodation.
