See Sun Peaks Christmas Trees This Winter With Ski And Stay Packages

Christmas trees seem to sprout from the snow at Sun Peaks Resort in British Columbia. Not just trees that look like snow-covered Christmas trees, but actual evergreens decked out with decorative ornaments.

Sun Peaks has a tradition of decorating Christmas trees on the slopes. Most trees are tended by individual families who choose which tree to decorate. You’ll find the largest collection of decorated trees and the largest Christmas tree on Morrisey Mountain on Showboat run.

This winter, the Christmas trees are truly snow covered as Sun Peaks already has amassed more snow than usual. The resort has only seen a deeper snow base in December twice in its history. The base is 28 percent above average, and the amount of new snowfall this month has set up Sun Peaks to potentially break its December snowfall record.
 
Sun Peaks is offering several ski and stay packages this winter. You can see the Christmas trees on the slopes during the holiday season, or catch them over the January holiday weekend.

The Winter Break Ski Package is still available Dec. 19, 2012 - Jan. 5, 2013 with rates starting at $129 per person per night. The package includes one night of double occupancy lodging and one day of skiing for two adults. Minimum stays may vary by lodging property.

The New Year’s Special, which starts at $124 per person per night, includes a three-night double occupancy stay partnered with two days of lift tickets. The package is valid Dec. 26 - Jan. 3.

In January, Sun Peaks is offering a Martin Luther King Holiday Getaway for U.S. skiers and riders. The package, which includes three nights of double occupancy lodging and two days of lift tickets, starts at $109 per person per night. The rates are available Jan. 10 - 15.
