Thanks to an abundance of early season snowfall, coupled with strong efforts from their snowmaking team, Squaw Valley was able to open EARLY, on Friday Nov. 16.

This past weekend was an exciting one for skiers and snowboarders.
+ Lake Tahoe ski areas like Squaw Valley and Kirkwood opened on Friday and were hit with a HUGE snow storm over the weekend.
+ Vail Mountain and Eldora Mountain Resort both celebrated their 50th anniversary, while Alta celebrated its 75th season of skiing in Little Cottonwood Canyon.
+ Vermont resort's, Sugarbush and Stowe Mountain Resort, opened for skiing and riding.
+ Sipapu was the first ski area to open in New Mexico for the 11th consecutive year.
