Final touches being made to Wolf Creek Ski Area before opening day

Southwest Colorado is set to begin its 2012/2013 ski season on Wednesday, Nov. 14 with the opening of Wolf Creek Ski Area. A string of cold temperatures following last weekend's massive storm has helped preserve Wolf Creek's snow accumulation, which amounted to a total of 20 inches.
Officially opening with an 18-inch base of all-natural snow, Wolf Creek will operate Treasure, Bonanza, Nova and Wolf Pup lifts to accommodate all levels of skiers and riders. Beginner, intermediate and expert terrain, including Treasure Falls, Prospector Ridge, Boundary Bowl, Montezuma Bowl and parts of Alberta Peak, are expected to be filled with powder and packed powder for soft conditions on the first day back to the slopes.
Ski and snowboard lessons will be available on opening day, and additional on-mountain restaurants and amenities, including the Raven lift, will continue to roll out through Thanksgiving. All scheduled lifts will operate from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Daily lift tickets will remain at $35 for adults and $20 for children and seniors until more terrain opens up.
