2012 Rockies Region Best Family Resort: Vail Mountain

Vail Terrain Park Lessons

Vail Mountain is the 2012 OnTheSnow Visitors' Choice Award winner for Best Family Resort in the Rocky Mountains. Over 5,000 acres of skiable terrain, a variety of dining and lodging options and a world-class ski school are just a few reasons why families love Vail. Vail Mountain's 193 trails, consistent snowfall, wide variety of terrain (including three terrain parks, a super pipe and mini pipe) provide something for everyone in the family. Vail boasts top notch service both on-mountain and in each of their twin base villages in order to provide a family experience that will be hard to forget, making it the 2012 OnTheSnow Visitors' Choice Award winner for Best Family Resort in the Rocky Mountains.

SKIING FOR THE KIDS: Vail Mountain has several Kids Adventure Zones dispersed around the front side of the mountain, where kids can go to have fun. Vail’s Adventure Ridge is great for the whole family. The football field sized snow park has ski bikes, a kid’s snowmobile track, tubing lanes and even a bungee trampoline.

OFF-HILL ACTIVITIES FOR MOM & DAD: Mom and Dad can enjoy the après scene at a number of Vail establishments, like The Red Lion in Vail Village or Garfinkel’s in the Lionshead base area. If Mom is in the dancing mood, head out to Whiskey Jack’s where they have an entire room dedicated to jiving.

FAMILY FUN OFF THE SLOPES: The entire family can enjoy ice skating in the Arrabelle at Vail Square, located in the Lionshead base village or take the whole family bowling at the Bol Restaurant & Bowling Center in Vail Village.
