Free Services For Kids At Half Term In France; Act Fast

Ski France is offering free lift passes, free hire of ski equipment, and free ski lessons for children in French ski resorts during the busy February school half term holiday week.

The specialist operator - celebrating its 21st year of operation - offers more than 30 catered chalets in 10 of the most popular French resorts, and the deal is available at all of them for the week commencing 14 February 2009.

The offer is unusual because French resorts have had a surge in bookings for the half term holiday, which are over a shorter period than in 2008, so availability is very limited. The excellent snow conditions in recent weeks have further bolstered bookings.

To qualify, families must book a brochure price, flight-inclusive seven night catered chalet holiday. Flights are available from Gatwick and Manchester.

Ski France will cover the costs of providing a six-day lift pass, six days' hire of skis, sticks, and boots and five days of half-day group ski lessons for children up to and including 11 years of age.

The offer represents a saving of up to £430 per child in Val d'Isere, one of the most popular family resorts.

February half term holidays start at £1,035 per adult and £985 per child under 12, including return flights from Gatwick, transfers, and seven nights' catered accommodation at Chalet Chamois in Courchevel.
