Fourth-graders from anywhere in New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Canada, or even the Bahamas can ski or ride free at 28 New York State resorts this winter when accompanied by a paying adult.
The program works like this: Fill out an application form and send it in with a copy of your 4th grade report card, progress report, or letter from the school stating that your child is in 4th grade, along with a $19 processing fee.
You will receive a booklet of coupons, three per participating ski area. When an adult lift ticket is purchased, the child presents the 4th Grade Passport booklet and a coupon for that ski area is removed and the child receives a free lift ticket for the day.
The passport may be used at any and all areas that participate in the program. Note: Redemption rules on season passes and other special passes vary by ski area. Contact the ski area ahead of time for more information.
Fine print: Glue a recent photograph of yourself on the inside front cover. Sign your name on the line in pen. Present the Passport booklet at the ticket window while your parent is purchasing his or her ticket. No more than two Passport holders per adult. Do not remove coupons from the book; the ticket attendant will remove the coupon while checking your photo and signature.
