Discounts at Angel Fire Extend into November

The first dusting of snow has hit the Sangre de Cristo mountains. That snow has skiers and riders in northern New Mexico thinking about winter.

With those skiing and riding enthusiasts in mind, Angel Fire Resort has opened up its online ticket window for the 2011/2012 season, featuring 20 percent cuts off of the $499 adult season pass if bought before midnight, Nov. 6. Juniors, teens, military and students get discounts too, with the price chopped to $249 before Nov. 6, when it goes up to $299.

Powder days are precious for Angel Fire skiers and riders, so the resort offers a flex card for $189 that allows the powderhound to pick one day a week to skip work and hit the deep stuff, Sunday through Thursday. And, the $49 Fast Break card allows visitors 18 years and older to bypass the ticket window and hit the lift as soon as they arrive—complete with their first day for free and ticket discounts thereafter.

The base lodge for the 2,077 vertical-foot mountain underwent a $1 million renovation recently to upgrade rooms and other services.
