Many of the higher elevations in Colorado saw their first dusting of snow in the past week. Naturally, the highest ski area in North America, Silverton Mountain, received a bit more of the white stuff. In fact, Mother Nature provided enough snow for a few patrollers to crank up the Silverton lift and make some turns atop the 13,487 ft. peak. Check out the pics below...

Silverton has averaged 500 inches of snow the last five years and received approximately 600 inches last season. Their official opening day is slated for Dec. 3, but if the snow continues, the start date could be pushed up. Click here for the latest from Silverton.
