Montgenevre Offers Low Cost Lift Passes Online

Montgenèvre is offering discounts on its lift ticket prices if you buy at least 10 days in advance on the internet at the resort's Web site.

Anyone can get 10 percent off a six-day pass, except during the French school holidays in February.

For all families purchasing advance tickets together, this offer gives a 50 percent discount on the ticket price for children  up to age 17 for the second, third, fourth, and fifth child booked in a group.

The French/Italian border resort on the giant Milky Way pass with its 400km (250 miles) of lift and piste linked cross-border terrain has a number of special accommodation-inclusive packages.

This offer is for three nights in apartment accommodation for four people including a Montgenèvre ski pass valid for three days and costs from 125 Euros per person based on three sharing.

The envy of numerous resorts because of its natural advantages, Montgenèvre, one of Europe's highest resorts at 1800m, enjoys Mediterranean sunshine, exceptional snow coverage, and a huge ski area. The resort boasts 75km of downhill runs and this together with the Monts de la Lune ("Mountains of the moon") area adds up to 110km of runs. In addition there are 23km of cross-country runs.  

The resort has seen a great deal of investment in recent years with the main road diverted around the edge of town and leaving the centre largely pedestrianised and much improved. The ski area also has seen big improvements, including some new lifts.
