Go To Ski School At Wolf Ridge

Wolf Ridge Ski Resort urges skiers and riders to try its Snow Sports School,  which provides lessons for beginners to intermediate in skiing, telemark skiing, and snowboarding.

"Wolf Ridge instructors are trained to give you the highest quality instruction with your safety as a priority," the resort says.

Group lessons are for first-time skiers or snowboarders who need basic instruction in the elements of skiing and riding, including how to fall, get up, turn, stop, and ski/snowboard in control. (Must say from personal experience that falling was never a problem; it was just everything else.) Group lessons are available for ages 8 years old and up, with four to 15 students in a class. They cost $18 per person for skiers, $21 per person for riders.

Private lessons offer one-on-one instruction for the basic skiing and snowboarding techniques, with instruction tailored to students ability and learning process. Private lessons are taught on an hourly basis and on instructor availability, and are recommended for ages 5 and up. They cost $45 an hour per person, with each additional person $15. A two-hour lesson is $75, with each additional person $30.

The Snow Sports School offers private and group lessons from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Wolf Ridge also has various options for younger skiers and snowboarders. Kids ages 5 and up can take a private lesson and ski one-on-one with Wolf Ridge's experienced instructors.

Wolf Ridge also provides a Wolf Cub Day Watch Program for ages 5 to 7. Cost for a half day is $150 per child; for a full day is $250. Both include equipment; the half day includes a snack; the full day includes lunch.
