Montana's University Students Nab Deals Amid Wyoming Woes

THIS ITEM EXPIRED JUN 15, 2009
Montana's University Students Nab Deals Amid Wyoming Woes

Students in universities in Montana still can get their hands on good deals for skiing and snowboarding this winter. University of Wyoming students, however, may find the doors of their local ski area - Snowy Range - closed for this winter. They'll find their closest ski slopes now sitting over the border in Colorado.

All students must present valid student IDs or proof of registration for the fall term in order to qualify for these discounts. Check with each resort for specific requirements.

Montana State University students still can buy discounted passes for three resorts in the Bozeman area. Bridger Bowl (406-857-2111), the closest ski area to the university, is selling their Ride On! card until Feb. 15. The $30 card lets you buy daily lift tickets for $8 off. You also can buy even cheaper lift tickets for $18 off the daily rate on Dec. 12-22, Jan. 6-13, and Mar. 16-20. Cardholders also get to ski or ride free Dec. 23.

MSU students also can get discounts at Moonlight Basin (406-993-6000), where college ski passes are on sale for $445 until Oct. 26. Those who want to ski Big Sky (406-995-5749) should look at their Frequent Sky Cards, which cost $78 and are available until Oct. 31. The cards get you $20 off the daily ticket at the window and give you 14 free days of skiing Nov. 30 through Dec. 6 and Apr. 6-12.

University of Montana students still can buy season passes for their closest ski area at Montana Snowbowl (406-549-9777). The passes, costing $449, are on sale through Nov. 9. Passes at Discovery Ski Area (406-563-2184) are on sale for $330 until Nov. 1.
