Eaglecrest, Juneau’s community-owned ski and snowboard hill located 12 miles from the state capitol, has made some improvements in the offseason – a couple of new lifts, for instance – and has implemented some programs to help lessen the economic burden on its guests.
One such is the bring a friend program in which renewing season pass holders are eligible for $100 deduction off the purchase of a 2008-09 season pass if they recruit a friend who also purchases a season pass.
Another is the fifth Grade Passport in which all Juneau fifth grade students are eligible for free lift tickets at Eaglecrest. Passport eligible students who ski or ride at least 15 times during the 2008/2009 season will receive $50 off on their 2009-10 season pass.
The Eaglecrest board of directors and management are inviting users and non-users of Eaglecrest to take an online survey and provide input on usage of the ski area's facility. The resort hopes to make the area a better place for winter recreation for the entire community with the results.
Those who complete the survey will be entered to win one of eight prizes: 10,000 Alaska Airlines miles, Eaglecrest season pass (adult or youth), three $50 gift certificates to Foggy Mountain Shop, and three $50 gift certificates to the Nugget Alaskan Outfitter. Visit Eaglecrest's survey page to participate.
