Upgrades At Eaglecrest Mean Surprises

Guests who arrive at Eaglecrest - Juneau's favorite ski and snowboard hill - will have a couple of surprises in store: Two new lifts.

Eaglecrest plunked down a several million dollars to replace the old beginner's surface with a double chair, and installed a mid-mountain double chair to access East Bowl, which in previous years was hike-to-only terrain.

Eaglecrest also put in a mountaintop road to make lift and trail maintenance a bit easier, and it is being hooked into the electrical grid (previously, lifts and facilities were run on diesel generators).
