easyJet, a leading low-fare airline, has announced two new routes from the United Kingdom to Switzerland just in time for the 2008-09 ski season.
A daily service between London Gatwick and the Swiss city of Basel has been launched and will cost from £28.99 one way including tax. It will run up until 28 March 2009.
A second new route is being introduced from Manchester Airport to Geneva on 12th December from £29.99 one way including tax. This new service will run nine times a week.
Both Basel and Geneva Airports are gateways to the Swiss Alps and offer access to some of the world’s best ski resorts.
Basel is a popular arrival point for skiers heading to Interlaken, Engelberg, Villars-Gryon, Andermatt and Lauterbrunnen, all of which are within 1.5 hours of the airport.
Geneva Airport offers access to both Swiss and French ski resorts. Some of the most popular include Villars-Gryon, Champery, Charmey, Chateau d'Oex, Chamonix, Courmayeur, all within 1.5 hours of the airport.
Other new easyJet routes set to be popular with skiers for the new season include Liverpool to Innsbruck and Edinburgh to Geneva.
