South Lake Tahoe Eco-Hotel Offers Heavenly Package With Lift Ticket Discounts

A South Lake Tahoe eco-hotel is offering a stay and ski package for Heavenly Mountain Resort. The 968 Park Hotel, which re-opened after a green renovation in 2009, continues to add perks for skiers and snowboarders.

The 968 Park Hotel's ski and stay package for Heavenly includes lift tickets at 20 percent off. Anyone staying two or more nights can get a two-day discounted lift ticket.

Amenities for skiers and snowboarders include a heated equipment locker room. Boot heaters can dry wet boots, and tools are available for adjusting skis and snowboards. Free wireless Internet lets you check the Heavenly snow report in the morning.

The hotel added a free breakfast for lodgers this January. The continental breakfast copies the European fashion with warm croissants, spreads, hard-boiled eggs, and cheeses-just enough energy for the slopes without getting bogged down by a heavy meal.

The hotel also offers massage services for sore bodies after skiing. A massage therapy spa and an indoor hot tub are available for soaking aching muscles.

The proximity of the hotel to South Lake Tahoe activities means you can park the car in the free covered space on street level and leave it during your stay. The Heavenly gondola sits a seven-minute walk from the hotel, and the casino strip begins three blocks east.

Renovation of hotel was completed in January 2009. The owners followed green practices, using reclaimed wood, recycled newsprint wallpaper, zero VOC paint, efficient low water systems, and insulation made from recycled blue jeans. Natural linens, organic guest room amenities, and green cleaning products complement the mix. The building and immediate surroundings are smoke free.
