The Valais region has made many improvements for skiers, with new and upgraded lifts, remodelled slopes, and more snow canons.
A detachable four-seater chairlift replaces the two old installations between Cry-d'Er and Bellalui in the Crans-Montana-Aminona ski region. It carries 2400 skiers per hour over a distance of 1.5 kilometres.
The Mont Fort cable car, which transports skiers up to 3300m in the 4 Valleys, has new cabins, providing greater comfort and better views.
The Talegga-Eggishorn Sud also opened this winter. The new six-seater chairlift has been built next to the existing valley station for the Fiesch-Eggishorn chairlift and makes an extension to the ski region within the Aletsch Arena.
The beginners' slope above the village of Anzere has been remodelled and now offers plenty of space for novice skiers to take their first steps.
Bettermeralp has been made more accessible to families: both of the ski tows have been replaced with a modern installation: the new four-seater Blausee chairlift comprises a specially equipped children's chair with coloured seating, partitions, and safety devices.
Snow canons have been added between 2400 and 2720 metres in Grimentz to ensure good conditions last longer.
The Valais region, in the south-west of Switzerland, stretches 150 kilometres along the Rhone Valley between Lake Geneva and the Rhone Glacier.
