Montgenevre Builds New Cable Car, Toboggan, Slalom Course

Montgenevre offers more on the mountain this winter with new snow sport facilities and ski pass deals.

New additions include the Chalvet cable car, better snow machines, and a new toboggan track called the Monty Express. There will also be a 1400-metre-long slalom course through the forest, with wooden bridges and tunnels, as well as night skiing once a week on the Col ski run complete with parallel slalom race tracks.

Montgenevre has launched a range of ski pass deals. A one-day ski pass in the early or late-season (Dec. 4-17 and April 10 to May 1.) is priced at the discounted rate of €26 adults, €24 seniors, and €22 children.

A six-day ski pass now includes additional benefits: four hours' free skiing on the day of your arrival if staying seven days; one free toboggan ride; and complimentary days skiing in Serre Chevalier, Alpes d'Huez, Les 2 Alpes, Puy Saint Vincent, La Vialettea, and Bardonecchia. Those who buy a six-day pass also get a discount on the Frejus tunnel.

The resort is also offering low prices outside school holiday periods, with 10 percent off a six-day break when booked 10 days before arrival.

Montgenevre is situated at an altitude of 1860 metres on the border with Italy. It is a traditional village in the Hautes-Alpes largely comprised of wooden chalets. Skiers have access to 400 kilometres of pistes in the Milky Way ski area.
