The lodge at Lost Trail Powder Mountain is getting a facelift this fall while the resort runs its two season pass sales. Fans need to buy their season passes soon if they want to get the best rates as the last fall sale winds up Nov. 15.
We checked with Judy Grasser, one of the owners of the ski area, to see about the facelift to the lodge. "We are working on extending our deck area and sprucing up the lodge with restaining," she reported. But the construction and painting is not the only thing happening at the resort this month.
Lost Trail closes its second fall season pass sale Nov. 15. After that, most prices take a leap up by $105-155. Before then, season passes cost $495 for ages 13 and older plus adults and $345 for children. Golden Ager passes for those ages 60-69 cost $380.
Buying passes as a family can save a few dollars, too. Rates run $1,225-1,825 for families of three to six members. Additional children ages 19 and younger can be added on for $250 each.
The resort's 10-Day Passes are also on sale through Nov. 15. The passes are transferable, so they can be split between several family members or friends. Packets of the passes run $225-297 for ages 6-69.
Ten-Day Passes are available in Montana and Idaho locations on both sides of the resort that spans the border of two states, but they must be purchased with cash or checks. Missoula locations include The Trail Head, REI, Pipestone Mountaineering, and Bob Ward's. Hamilton skiers and riders can stop by the local Bob Ward's or Valley Bicycle to purchase the passes. The passes are also carried in Salmon at Havemann's Ace Hardware and Fred's Ski Shop.
