Two winters ago the Korby Fleischer family took over Mt. Crescent and has breathed new life into the area.
A terrain park has been added, improvements to the lighting system for night skiing and riding, widened some of the runs, added tubing, more snowmaking, remodeled the two-story lodge, and added a sun deck to the Mountain Café & Bar for those balmy spring days. Check out the new 360-degree breathtaking view from the top of the double chair this winter.
The ski area boasts a 300-foot vertical drop, which is descent for the lower Midwest. It offers 11 runs, a terrain park, tubing hill, two chairlifts - double and a quad - and surface tow. Located along the Iowa-Nebraska border, it's only 15 minutes from Omaha. They plan on opening for the season Dec. 11.
