Stratton X2 Express Card Lets You Skip The Window

Stratton Mountain Resort has quite the deal with its X2 Express Card, which pays for itself right out of the box.

One could be excused for calling this deal a no-brainer.

The card costs $69 until Nov. 23, yields discounts on lift tickets right through the season, and comes pre-loaded with a free day of skiing.

X2 works like a debit card. No trips to the lift ticket window, just direct-to-lift access with your credit card charged the first time the X2 is scanned at the lift each day.

Holders get $30 off midweek, non-holiday lift tickets; $20 off non-holiday weekends; and $10 off holiday lift tickets.

X2 also includes one free equipment rental.

Stratton's operators say do the math. The X2 costs the same as a one-day lift ticket, and saves every time it's used.

Caveats: The free lift ticket and free equipment rental can't be redeemed on holidays. Daily savings apply to full day tickets only; no half days. Holidays are Dec. 26 to Jan. 2; Jan. 15-17; and Feb. 19-25. X2 Cards and the included free day and free rental are non-transferable. Card expires at the end of the current winter season.
