Lucerne Launch All-In-One SnowCard: 11 Ski Resorts, One Pass

The city of Lucerne is introducing the "SnowCard" this winter, which is an all-in-one pass covering 11 ski areas in the Lake Lucerne region.

The SnowCard Basic will be used as a voucher for a day pass in one of the following nine resorts: Wirzweli, Stoos, Klewenalp-Stockhütte, Melchsee-Frutt, Flüelen-Eggberge, Sattel-Hochstuckli, Marbach, Mörlialp, and Sörenberg.

The slightly more exclusive SnowCard Plus can be used as a day pass in the resorts above and additionally in the Mythenregion and Brunni Engelberg.

It is possible to save up to 30 percent on the combined price of accommodation and SnowCard as a number of the hotels are offering SnowCard packages.

For example, the Hotel Seeburg, Lucerne is offering one night's accommodation with breakfast and SnowCard for CHF269.20 per person and the Ameron Hotel Flora in Lucerne is offering the same package for CHF182.

Sibylle Gerardi, head of corporate communications for Lucerne Tourism, told OnTheSnow: "We decided to launch the SnowCard to encourage visitors to try several of our different ski areas during their stay. The ski-accommodation package is a cost-saving way to combine a city break with winter sports in the Lake Lucerne Region."

All packages will be presented on Lucerne's Web site from the beginning of November. They all are available to book through the individual hotels.
