SkiFever Show Heads To Portland Nov. 5-7; Adds Wine Tasting

The SkiFever and Snowboard Show hits Portland, Oregon, Nov. 5-7. The show, although comprised of similar elements to the Seattle show, brings a slightly different vibe to the event.

The Portland show adds wine tasting as part of the event plus unique entertainment. "We have a dog that skis," Dan Shindler, owner and producer, told us. "He stands on the skis and makes his own turns while his owner is linked to him with poles on a harness."

The event features a ski swap, gear and ski area reps, and Portland area retail shops selling equipment and clothing up to 70 percent off. Entertainment at the show bounces from the dog on skis to the Freeride Theater, a rail jam, and the new school freeride show. Admission, for those of legal age, to the SkiFever Wine Chalet is included in the ticket price. The chalet features regional wines.

Admission at the door costs $12 for adults and $3 for juniors 6-12 years old. Kids younger than six get in free. Those who register online can get a coupon for $2 off admission for adults and free entrance for juniors.

Admission includes two-for-one lift tickets valid at several ski resorts. The tickets may be used at Whistler Blackcomb, Mt. Hood Ski Bowl, Mt. Hood Meadows, Mission Ridge, Timberline, Mt. Ashland, and Hoodoo. Blackout dates and restrictions may apply.

The show runs 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Portland Expo Center.
