Badger Pass Ski Area started a new shuttle from Oakhurst last winter that it plans to continue this season. That gives local skiers and snowboarders more incentive to purchase a season pass.
The new 47-passenger bus, inaugurated last winter, proved so successful that it will run again this season from Oakhurst to Badger Pass. Oakurst is about an hour from the ski area. One bus heads to the ski area in the morning, and one returns in late afternoon. The bus route includes stops at two locations on Highway 41--Miller Mountain Sports in Oakhurst and Tenaya Lodge in Fish Camp. The bus departs Oakhurst at 7 a.m. and arrives at Badger Pass at 9 a.m. It departs the ski area at 3:45 p.m. and arrives back in Oakhurst at 5:30 p.m.
The shuttle is scheduled to operate Saturdays and Sundays, plus daily during the Christmas holidays. Riding the shuttle costs $10 per person, which includes the entrance fee to Yosemite National Park.
Badger Pass season passes are on sale through Oct. 31. Sale rates for passes run $229 for adults, $199 for youth and seniors, and $129 for children. Rates starting Nov. 1 bump up to $492 for adults, youth, and seniors. The child season pass increases to $192. Season passes can be purchased online.
Badger Pass usually runs their lifts mid-December to late March. Opening day is announced as conditions permit. The Badger Pass office opens when the season begins.
