Massanutten Resort's new interactive trail map literally makes the mountain and its features come alive. The map is an animated version of a regular trail and it also provides little nuggets of useful information that make it easy to quickly size up the resort's technical features.
Click on the designated lift number to find additional details about the lift. For example, lift one at Massanutten is a tubing park connector. Clicking on the lift number provides this information. Lift two is a J-Bar and a quick click lets you know that fact. The same is true with lifts three, four, and six. A box pops up telling you they all are quads. A valuable piece of information disclosed for beginners is the fact that the magic carpet lift operates from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. but is reserved for ski school 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Clicking on a trail or slope provides different information including the length of the trail, its level of difficulty, whether or not it is open, if it is groomed, and if it has snowmaking is operational.
The map does not include information about what is included in the base lodge, parking facilities, or ski patrol huts.
