Big Boulder Park Closes Mid-Week Operations to Preserve Conditions, Discounts Weekend Tickets

In an effort to conserve what snow remains on the mountain and stretch the park season as long as possible, Big Boulder Park has gone to weekend-only operations. Resuming on Saturday, March 24, the park will be open from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. for freestyle skiers and riders and others looking to have late, or what is now considered late, season fun on snow.

Weekend lift tickets, rentals and all-you-can tubing are just $20 each. All season passes will be honored including mid-week and night passes.

The park crew has been working hard to ensure that despite the waning conditions, skiers and riders will have fresh features to hit and an updated layout from one weekend to the next.

Big Boulder is one of only two Pennsylvania resorts, the other being Seven Springs, that are still spinning lifts and welcoming tee-shirt-clad guests to the slopes. Despite an unprecedented thaw rate across much of the country, the loyal park rats of Big Boulder Park continue to tear it up, lapping the slush and laughing all the way. Last weekend's Hot Laps Park Jam brought costumed kids out to play in the sun and even win a little dough. Maybe they can use it to blow some snow and keep the mountain open just a week or two longer.
